What I’m Building Through BPS
I am not building BPS around one product or betting everything on a single idea.
The company is intentionally designed to operate across software, mobile applications, artificial intelligence, automation, engineering systems, web development, digital commerce, consumer products, and new ventures that may not fit neatly into an existing category.
That breadth is deliberate.
I don’t believe anyone can consistently predict which idea will become the biggest opportunity before the market, the technology, and the real world have had a chance to answer.
So I would rather build the capability to explore multiple good ideas intelligently.
Some will work.
Some won’t.
Some may become modest, useful businesses.
Others may reveal opportunities far larger than what I originally intended.
And some will fail completely.
We will fail.
I consider that unavoidable if I am actually pushing into new territory. What matters is whether the failure teaches me something.
I want every project BPS takes on to leave the company more capable than it was before. A process that works should become reusable. A technical solution should become part of our toolkit. A mistake should become documented knowledge. Repetitive work should become automation where appropriate.
That means even when an individual experiment does not succeed commercially, it can still contribute something valuable to what comes next.
I am not trying to pick one winning horse. I am trying to build a better stable.
Technology Should Do Something for Someone
I enjoy technology, but technology for its own sake has never been enough for me.
I want what I build to do something for another person.
For a small-business owner, that might mean a website that finally represents the quality of the work they already do—along with booking, payments, customer intake, automation, or other tools that allow them to operate more effectively.
For a consumer, it might be a straightforward app that solves one irritating problem without turning it into something unnecessarily complicated.
For an engineer, inventor, or technical professional, it might mean using artificial intelligence and structured evidence to investigate a problem that would otherwise require an enormous amount of time and manual analysis.
For someone buying from one of our consumer brands, the value might simply be enjoying something I created.
Not every product needs to change the world.
It needs to create enough value for the person on the other side of it to justify its existence.
That standard matters to me.
AI With a Human Behind the Wheel
Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important part of my work at BPS.
I think it will allow individuals and small organizations to accomplish things that would previously have required enormous teams, capital, and infrastructure.
That excites me.
But I also think increasing machine capability makes human judgment more important, not less.
AI can process information faster than I can. It can explore thousands of possibilities, automate enormous amounts of repetitive work, find relationships in information, generate software, and assist with increasingly sophisticated technical problems.
But somebody still needs to decide what problem is worth solving.
Somebody has to define the objective.
Somebody has to question the answer.
Somebody has to determine whether the evidence is actually good enough.
Somebody has to decide what risks are acceptable.
And when a consequential decision is made, a human being still needs to own it.
The way I think about it is fairly simple:
AI can provide extraordinary horsepower. I want a human behind the wheel.
Some of the most technically ambitious work I am pursuing through BPS is built around that relationship—finding better ways for humans, artificial intelligence, evidence, and automation to work together without confusing machine confidence with truth or machine capability with authority.
There is considerably more happening beneath that work than I intend to publish publicly. Some of the methods, systems, and architecture being developed inside BPS are proprietary for a reason.
But the principle driving them isn’t a secret.
I want AI to make capable people dramatically more capable.
Build It. Put It in the Real World.
I have an operator’s mentality.
I care far less about whether something works beautifully in a presentation than whether it still works when real people start using it.
Can it survive outside the development environment?
Can somebody understand it without me standing beside them?
What happens when something goes wrong?
Can the process be repeated?
Does it actually save time, make money, improve a decision, solve the problem, or provide the experience I said it would?
Those questions are important because I don’t want BPS to become a collection of impressive prototypes.
I want to build things that operate.
That applies whether I am working on a sophisticated AI engineering system or a website for a local business.
The complexity may be completely different.
The responsibility to deliver something useful is the same.
What I Want BPS to Become
My long-term goal is bigger than any one of the products currently carrying the BPS name.
I want to build an organization that gets progressively better at finding problems, creating solutions, testing ideas, launching products, operating businesses, learning from failures, and recognizing when something deserves to be pushed further.
That means BPS itself is always being built alongside the products.
Every application, website, AI system, business process, consumer product, and experiment gives me another opportunity to improve the infrastructure underneath all of them.
Over time, I want those capabilities to compound.
The next product should benefit from everything learned building the last one.
The next failure should be more informative.
The next launch should be more disciplined.
The next person I build something for should benefit from everything that came before them.
That’s what ties all of this together for me.
A business website.
A mobile app.
An AI-assisted engineering solution.
A new product nobody has categorized yet.
Or a T-shirt that makes someone laugh hard enough to show it to their friend.
Different products. Different problems. Same purpose: build something useful for people, learn from what happens, and make the next thing better.
That’s what I want my work to represent.
And that’s what I’m building through Blewett Product Systems.
